A dental crown is a fixed prosthetic replacement which is placed on natural teeth and is used to replace very damaged or unattractive teeth. Before placing the crown, it is necessary to abrade the tooth and prepare it for the crown. Since the crown covers the entire tooth (its visible part), it represents its new surface. The materials used to create crowns in our laboratory are: metal ceramics, full ceramics (E-max or Empress), and zircon.

A bridge is created from more units or crowns connected in one whole. Bridges are most often used when teeth in a row need to be replaced or if some of the teeth are very week and others need to carry them. In order for a dentist to be able to evaluate such a situation and offer the creation of a fixed bridge, it is necessary for the patient to come to an examination where detailed diagnostics will be performed, after which the doctor can suggest the best solution to the patient.

Mobile prosthetics are semi-fixed and completely mobile solutions. Most often, mobile prosthetics means dentures – partial and total. In cases of several lost teeth or with a complete lack of teeth, one of the possible solutions is a denture. A denture is financially acceptable and a faster solution, but it is necessary to keep in mind that it is significantly difficult to adapt to it. Many patients complain that there is no natural feeling, it scratches them and many patients don’t ever get comfortable wearing them. Partial dentures are used with patients who are missing a smaller number of teeth and they are then created in a way that they fill out the existing holes between teeth the patient still has. Dental Center Štimac creates dentures from two types of material – acrylate and wironit. A complete acrylate denture is a more economical solution, while the wironit denture is made of metal and stronger in regards to the acrylate denture. Dentures on implants are dentures that are attached to implants. Implants are placed in the jaw and a denture can be placed on them subsequently. The greatest advantage of a denture on implants is the fact that they are easy to remove for cleaning and hygiene, but when they are attached, they are strong enough to stay attached and not be a problem when eating or speaking. In order for the denture on the implant to be strong enough, but also completely functional, it is necessary to install at least four implants in one jaw which will hold the entire prosthetic construction.
